Alex has over three decades of experience in strategic advisory, corporate finance and venture development in the resources, energy and infrastructure sectors worldwide, with a focus on Asia over the past 25 years.

Alex worked at Paribas in the energy, mining and metals sectors (capital markets, M&A and banking) for eight years from 1991 to 1999 in Paris and London, covering Asia (mainly Indonesia and India) from 1995. In 2000 he became a founder of AWR Lloyd, a specialist Asian energy and infrastructure sector advisory firm (www.awrlloyd.com). At AWR Lloyd, Alex has focused on strategic and financial advisory to the oil (midstream and downstream), mining, energy technology and infrastructure sectors in China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. He has been based in Bangkok since 2001.

In the oil sector, Alex has advised a number of clients (commercial, strategic and financial advisory assignments) in relation to around twenty different oil terminal, storage, trading, procurement and refining projects in South and Southeast Asia.

Alex has been principal strategic advisor to Banpu since 2000, advising the company on its growth throughout the Asia-Pacific region. He has also advised many international energy corporates like Saudi Aramco, Chevron, PTT and Petrovietnam as well as infrastructure groups like SKEC, Hyundai EC, Ronesans and DP World in relation to projects and growth strategies.

Alex was educated in economics and history at the London School of Economics (BSc Econ) and Oxford (MSt Oxon).
