Southeast Asian fuel trading, procurement, storage and distribution ventures
- Indochina Energy has worked with three Southeast Asian based conglomerates to develop fuel trading, storage and logistics ventures. Countries of focus for these clients included Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam.
- One client had a major oil storage terminal with 100,000 dwt vessel access and storage capacity for over 2 million barrels of crude oil and refined products. Indochina Energy worked with AWR Lloyd to develop growth strategies for the client to expand storage capacity to over 6 million, feasibility studies relating to building greenfield LPG storage, trading and distribution partnerships, acquisition opportunities, IPO and trade-sale options. With Indochina Energy’s support, the client sold its business to a strategic buyer at a premium price which factored in the company’s growth plans.
- Indochina Energy also worked with a large Asian energy conglomerate on the planning, development and implementation of a joint venture to procure diesel for its mining operations from Singapore-based trading groups with a view to reducing its fuel costs and for the generation of trading profits from sales to third-party consumers.
- Indochina Energy is also currently working with a group to increase its LPG exports.
